Several years ago, I also wanted to increase my metabolism, and I knew that the fad-diets and dangerous stimulant-filled supplements were NOT the way to do it.

I found amazing ways to increase my metabolism that not only helped me to lose weight, but also had a powerful effect on my entire life. I know that this sounds a bit far-fetched, but it's true.

Learn how I used the power of thought to increase my metabolism.

Read this slowly, several times over: What you think, you create.

You're probably thinking that this sounds like some new-age mumbo-jumbo. But it's a universal law. What you think about, you bring about. So what are you thinking about your weight? About your body? About the foods that you eat?

Do you have thoughts that limit your metabolic ability to burn calories and fat? Here are some examples:

"Weight loss is so difficult for me."

"I have a slow metabolism. That's why I can't lose weight."

"I'll be happy when I lose __ pounds."

"Ice cream makes me fat. I know I shouldn't eat it."

"I'll never lose this weight."

If thoughts like this cross your mind, chances are that you are your own worst metabolic enemy. When I wanted to increase my metabolism, that's what I found. So I decided to change my mind--literally!

The reality is that the universe gives us EXACTLY what we focus on. So can you see the power of what you think and say?

Start to replace those thoughts with what you really want. For example:

"Weight loss comes easy to me."

"I have a fast metabolism, and I lose weight easily."

"If I have a serving of HIGH QUALITY ice cream and enjoy every bite of it, I won't gain weight."

"I am happy NOW."

Do this consistently, and you will increase your metabolism just through the power of your thoughts. Focus on what you want, not what you don't want.

How I used stress reduction to increase my metabolism.

Stress has a huge effect on your metabolism. I learned this the hard way. I started gaining my weight as soon as I got a high-pressure, high-stress job.

And I put it on right around my middle: my belly, hips, and thighs. These are the classic spots where you gain weight when you are stressed. The hormone, cortisol, is much to blame. Our bodies produce cortisol in response to stress.

Increased cortisol levels aren't the only impact of stress. Chronic stress creates a domino effect of many hormonal changes in our body, all of which create weight gain by limiting our metabolism.

When I wanted to increase my metabolism, I realized that I had to do something to reduce my stress.

So, how can you reduce your stress? Start with realizing the power that YOU have to reduce your stress. It may seem like many things in your life are out of your control. But if you look harder at those situations, you'll see that you really DO have control over them. At the very least, you have control over your REACTION to them.

So here are the ways that I used to de-stress, relax, and ultimately, to increase my metabolism:
o guided relaxation and meditation
o deep breathing
o herbs

How I use foods to increase my metabolism.

I learned that the chemicals and hormones in the mass-produced vegetables, dairy, and meats can damage our body to the point that our metabolism is affected. So I decided to buy only the highest quality, WHOLE foods that I could afford.

I discovered where to find these higher quality foods at my grocery store. I also found a health food store that sold many high quality and locally grown vegetables, meats, and dairy products.

I found that these higher quality foods tasted SO much better than the packaged and processed versions. These foods no longer tasted good to me. And they made me sick. It's like my body (and metabolism) finally woke up and said "Yes! This is what I want!"

I also use some specific foods to increase my metabolism.

How I used detoxing to increase my metabolism.

Another powerful method I used to increase my metabolism is detoxing. I found that by cleansing my body of toxins, I allowed my natural metabolism to return to its proper level.

But most detox programs last for several weeks (some even longer!) I knew I couldn't stick with the program that long. So, I customized my own brief detox diet that will do wonders not only for your metabolism, but also for your overall health and energy levels.
